| Project Title | Collage Unbound: Object Assemblage and the Multicultural Everyday |
| Location | Sheung Wan, Hong Kong |

Contextual Statement
This project, Collage Unbound, responds to the rise of digital and AI-generated imagery by reasserting the material, tactile, and culturally resonant potential of collage. It transforms everyday objects—sardine tins, tea bags, wine labels, bottle caps, and vintage watches—into evocative assemblages that challenge perceptions of value and meaning through the use of everyday items as a medium, elevating the ordinary via artistic recontextualization. The work thrives on spontaneity in form, texture, and composition. By integrating three-dimensional object integration, the project expands collage into physical space using dimensional materials, thereby breaking traditional display norms with interactive, horizontal layouts. Embracing material improvisation and escaping the frame, these works invited touch and rearrangement, subverting institutional “do not touch” conventions and emphasizing the democratic, accessible spirit of collage. Ultimately, Collage Unbound argues for the enduring relevance of collage as a medium capable of critique, play, and human connection in an increasingly disembodied digital age.
