I primarily work in oil painting, my practice also expands into sculpture, wood, and ceramics, mediums through which I can engage tactilely with themes of fragility and permanence. My research process is deeply rooted in examining contemporary political and societal issues, particularly those intertwined with questions of faith and belief systems. I begin by immersing myself in the historical and cultural contexts of my chosen topics, studying both the origins of these issues and the ways in which other artists have engaged with them.

Contextual Statement
My final major project, Vessel, explores themes of nature, memory, and transformation through the use of natural and donated materials, addressing ideas of decay, displacement, and collective history. This project marked a significant shift from my original proposal and challenged my practice through the exploration and risk taking of unfamiliar materials and forms.
The central piece of this project is a sculpture constructed from recycled cardboard and enveloped with fabrics donated by the public. Each fabric carried personal, nostalgic memories, adding a profound layer of collective history to the work. These fabrics were immersed in a mixture of date seed powder and adhesive, then meticulously wrapped around the cardboard framework, forming a structure that is both fragile and resilient.
