Artist statement
I live in the beautiful City of Chester with a culture of diverse communities in regards to social classes, which has led to an aware of inequalities in our society.
My approach to art is rooted in the belief that it can be a transformative force for social change and community engagement. I strive to innovate in my practice, offering fresh perspectives on how art can break down barriers and become accessible to everyone. By utilising platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and television, I aim to democratise art, reaching a broader audience and inviting those who may not typically engage with traditional art spaces.
I focus on New Genre Public Arts, which allows me to highlight the intersection of art and activism. This approach fosters a sense of community and collaboration, as I bring art installations directly to people. These immersive experiences resonate on a deeper level, sparking thought and dialogue about pressing social inequalities.
Sustainability is also a key principle in my practice. I emphasise using minimal materials and aim to reach a global audience, aligning my work with contemporary needs for environmental consciousness and inclusivity.

Contextual Statement
“Are We Listening” is a poignant digital film that seeks to spark vital discussions around the hidden struggles faced by male-identifying individuals grappling with suicidal thoughts. By delving into the often unseen emotional battles lurking beneath the façade of ordinary lives, the film invites viewers to engage with these critical issues. The project maintains ethical integrity by incorporating real-life experiences while safeguarding individuals’ anonymity, a commitment achieved through collaboration with local charities. Utilizing green screen technology and Adobe software, the film layers its storytelling to achieve depth and complexity, while original soundtracks capture the emotional turbulence underpinning the narrative. Inspired by local stage plays in the North West, “Are We Listening” highlights the dichotomy between the masculine ideals often projected and the internal struggles many face silently. This film is a call to action, urging audiences to listen and engage with the profound realities of mental health challenges among men.
Future Aspirations
My journey in Fine Art and New Media has been exhilarating, especially in this era of digital transformation and social media. These platforms offer vast opportunities for artists, enabling interactive storytelling that breaks traditional boundaries.
As I pursue now pursue a doctorate, I aim to be at the forefront of this dynamic field, contributing to both academic discussions and practical applications of digital media in art. I’m excited about exploring technological advancements in the South East Asia and learning from American specialists to enhance my expertise.
I see my research as a catalyst for new methodologies that utilise mobile devices and social media as vibrant art platforms. I’m driven by the potential to influence how art is created, shared, and experienced in our digital world, ready to reshape the narrative of art in the 21st century.
